MMGuardian and Apple Screen Time
MMGuardian integrates seamlessly with Apple Screen Time, providing powerful parental control functions.
To enable these functions, the Apple Account set on your child’s iPhone or iPad must be part of the parent’s Apple Family group, and be an Apple Account for a child.
Overview of What You’ll Need
- Your own Apple Account

- An Apple Family group
- An Apple Account for your child’s iPhone or iPad, added to your Family group
- If your child is 13 or older*, they can create their own Apple Account
- If your child is under 13*, the parent must create the account. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/102617
Adding Child Account to Your Family Group
Add a Child with an Existing Apple Account
Use this if your child already has their own Apple account.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top of the screen
- Tap “Family”
- Tap the “Add Member” button, top right

- Tap “Invite People”, then invite your child via iMessage or Airdrop.
- Have your child select to join your family group.
- Ensure that your child is signed-in using their Apple Account on their iPhone or iPad (in Settings).
Create a New Child Apple Account (Under 13)
Use this process if your child is under age 13*
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top of the screen
- Tap “Family”
- Tap the “Add Member”, button

- Tap “Create Child Account”
- Enter your child’s name and birthdate
- If prompted, use your credit card to verify that you’re an adult. Apple will not charge you, this is only for age verification
- Create your child’s Apple Account:
- Choose an email address
- Set a password
- Add a recovery phone number
- Follow the remaining prompts to finish setup. You can skip the Apple parental control setup instructions that you see. You’ll set up Parental Control using MMGuardian later.
- Apple may ask you to verify using your own Apple Account. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.
- On your child’s iPhone or iPad, sign-in using your child’s new Apple Account credentials (in Settings).
