License or Subscription

The difference between a licence and a subscription is described below.

A subscription or license (one or the other, not both!) is only required for the child phone app(s).

The Parent App on a parent’s phone does not need a license or a subscription.

Subscriptions

A subscription causes the child phone app to be licensed for the duration of the subscription. Subscriptions will auto-renew each month or year unless the subscription is cancelled.

If you change your child’s phone, the licence based off the subscription can be transferred to the application installed and registered on the new phone, provided that the device type is the same (Android to Android, iPhone to iPhone).

For new Android phones where the phone number is the same, the license transfer is automatic. For other cases, you will need to manually transfer the license, at the web portal. See Transfer License.

5 Year License

A 5 Year License is a one-off payment to purchase a licence for the app or apps. The licence itself does not expire. However, there is a limitation that the licence will become locked to the device that is set to be licensed on the 5th anniversary of the licence purchase date.

Before that time, it is possible to transfer the licence to the application installed and registered on a new phone as often as desired. For new Android phones where the phone number is the same, the license transfer is automatic. For other cases, you will need to manually transfer the license, at the web portal. See Transfer License.
